Good Practice Recognition For Charles Wells CRISP Training
BIIAB has awarded Good Practice Recognition Scheme (GPRS) approval to Charles Wells Pub Company for its Charles Wells Retail Induction Support Programme (CRISP).
Far from being a delicious snack, CRISP is a credit worthy training programme intended to convey Charles Wells Pub Company standards, culture and values to new licensees, and forms the basis of an open and honest business partnership. All licensees taking a tenancy or lease agreement with Charles Wells are put through the programme, regardless of their experience.
CRISP was developed to help reduce turnover of licensees within the first 12 months of them taking a lease or tenancy; to provide licensees with the 'technical' tools and training to be able to hit the ground running in their new premises and to promote the various sources of support available from Charles Wells.
The programme is constantly reviewed and further developed by the project team who created it, in order to meet internal and external demands. Feedback from delegates at the end of every course is welcomed as invaluable input, as is the constant monitoring of industry changes and legal requirements. Charles Wells has already received recognition for the CRISP programme in the form of BII NITA award wins in 2004 and 2007 plus finalist placing in 2008 so GPRS is a natural progression.
Peter Wells, Sales and Marketing Director for Charles Wells Pub Company, commented: “We work hard to deliver the support that helps our licensees build profitable and sustainable businesses and CRISP has been an important part of getting this off to the best possible start.
“To achieve BIIAB GPRS accreditation shows that our induction programme is one of the best in the industry and that we're preparing our licensees as effectively as we can to deliver a great pub experience for the consumer. By including the BIIAB Level 2 Introduction to Licensed Retail Operations qualification as part of the CRISP programme, we believe our licensees will gain competitive advantage as they raise their retail standards through nationally recognised training.”
As the licensed retail industry’s leading awarding body, BIIAB is well-placed to offer the GPRS system of approval. Recognition under the scheme acknowledges that the processes, aims and objectives underpinning a training programme comply with “good practice” criteria and that the training meets the needs of the industry. BIIAB’s accreditation of training schemes provides credibility and gives training providers a hallmark of quality for their programmes.
